En effet, c’est son oncle, Ryuichiro Akimoto qui, le premier, lui a enseigné l’art de la broderie japonaise.

Par la suite, elle a mis au point ses propres techniques, comme celle qui consiste à peindre ses tissus à l’encre de chine avant de les broder !

Depuis ce premier apprentissage, Mitsuko Arita défend activement l’art traditionnel et fait partie d’une association pour les métiers d’art japonais.

Internationalement connue, elle a déjà exposé à Pékin, dans le cadre d’un échange entre Chinois et Japonais, mais également aux Etats-Unis, en Corée et bien évidemment au Japon. Elle est également auteur de nombreux ouvrages et costumière.

C’est sa première exposition en France.

Deux fois par jour, Mitsuko Arita fera des démonstrations de son art traditionnel.

Her reputation extends well beyond the borders of the Land of the Rising Sun and she is a forerunner for the traditional arts of her country. This is Mitsuko Arita’s first ever exhibition in France!

For Mitsuko Arita, Nihon Shishu (Japanese for traditional Japanese embroidery) is a family affair…

It was in fact her uncle, Ryuichiro Akimoto, who first taught her the art of Japanese embroidery.

Subsequently, she worked on her own techniques, such as painting materials with Indian ink before embroidering them.

Since this initial apprenticeship, Mitsuko Arita has been actively defending the traditional art and is a member of an association for Japanese art professions.

This internationally renowned artist has already exhibited her work in Beijing as part of an exchange between China and Japan as well as in the United States, Korea and of course Japan. She has also written many books on the subject and is a costume designer.

This will be her first exhibition in France.
